A Perfectly Normal Building

The building on number 9 Fleiner Strasse serves as a tangible example of everyday life during Hitler’s dictatorship. National socialists and their opponents, apolitical people and members of the party, Jews and Christians, soldiers and civilians, all lived and worked under the same roof. But this very building also represents the indiscriminate death which ensued when bombs rained down on the city in the night on 4 December 1944.
